Enter Stann Smith, a Harmonica playing, Beat Making Emcee from the Crown Heights Section of Brooklyn.
Merging Real Life Situations over hard boom bap beats accompanied by a golden harmonica, Stann Smith has been rising in Profile since his emergence on the scene in 2011.
From Being Featured in the Huffington Post’s “Eyes Peeled” section to receiving airplay from Brooklyn College Radio, He began building a buzz when he released the song “Never About Winning” on the Internet in 2011. The song was picked up on several mix tapes on Datpiff receiving thousands of Downloads. Using the Momentum from that he released an EP entitled 2nd @ Race America which was received very positively by the underground hip-hop community and “The Bootleg Sides” which was a collection of his most popular songs.
Stann Smith also co-started a movement entitled #EKOET (Every king Over Everything) which is the effort to bridge the gap between commercial music and art and to promote the idea of individuality in our Society. He’s in the process of releasing his debut LP “Spirit and Opportunity” in Spring 2013.
